Welcome to Filthy Habit!

Some important things to know for your first class or lesson:

Level One Wheel Class

  1. Feel free to park in the lot behind the building off the alley. You can come in through the back door at the top of the stairs.

  2. Clothing: When we throw we straddle the wheels with one leg on both sides, so skirts and shorter shorts don’t really work.

  3. Tools: You will need tools! Search for “beginner wheel throwing pottery kit” online.

  4. It’s quite a bit harder to throw clay with long nails. You may want to shorten your style.

  5. Drinking coffee before class can be counter-productive. Please come prepared to slow down, breathe and relax… :)

    Private Lessons

No tools are required for private lessons. Please arrive at the appointed time. It may not be possible to admit you if you come early on a busy day.

Clothing: When we throw we straddle the wheels with one leg on both sides, so skirts and shorter shorts don’t really work.

Please wear clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty!

    Level Two Wheel Class

You will need at least two Speedball 7.5” square bats, which you can find online. I may also have some in stock, subject to availability.

    Hand Building Class

No special tools are necessary for the first class. We will discuss gathering tools for your kit throughout the session.
